Our radiologists meet a higher standard

 

All Advanced Radiology radiologists are certified by the American Board of Radiology, and all have had additional years of training in various radiology subspecialties, receiving additional board certifications if offered in these areas.

  • Many of our physicians are continually named among Connecticut’s “Top Doctors” annual rankings by Castle Connolly.
  • Numerous Advanced Radiology radiologists have been elected as Fellows of the American College of Radiology, a distinction only achieved by 10% of radiologists.
  • Several of our radiologists have research published in prestigious, peer-reviewed journals.
  • All of our outpatient offices are accredited by the American College of Radiology, which enforces high standards of quality control and safety on our machines, procedures, personnel and images.

Advanced Radiology meets more stringent rules

Many outpatient imaging centers are not held to the same stringent criteria as Advanced Radiology. Our radiologists are on the staff of Bridgeport Hospital and St. Vincent’s Medical Center and teach in the radiology residency program at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Because we also support hospitals our radiologists must adhere to stricter standards than other facilities or stand-alone offices. We must meet requirements set by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) which require that radiologists be evaluated for reappointment to the medical staff every two years, based on measures of performance and quality.
